You know,

in Jesus’ day he said that divorce was wrong to protect women. If women got divorced back then, they would be without protection. It was all abut protecting them, not really about the divorce itself. Divorce is not wrong today. If your husband is beating you or cheating on you or if you are just plain unhappy, it is completely acceptable to get a divorce. Saying it is not okay is going against what Jesus wanted- to protect women. Divorce is okay. Just like eating pig and just like gay marriage. People need to read the bible without the present day perspective distorting its words. Stop trying to apply rules from the first century to the twenty first century. They just aren’t relevant anymore…

Also, Jesus loved everyone. I truly believe that’s what he wanted, for people to be filled with the love and compassion that he had.

Treat others the way you want to be treated with the understanding that God loves everyone, not just white Christians. And remember, Jesus was a Jew.
